Matthew Stocke

is an American stage and television actor from Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1995 with a BFA in Acting/Musical Theater.

Shortly after graduation Matt moved to New York City and has since been making his living as a professional actor. Matt rejoined Rock Of Ages on Broadway as Hertz through 3/10/13. He recently appeared as Mike in Michael John LaChiusa's GIANT at NYC's Public Theater which ran through 12/2 after performimg the same role in GIANT at the Dallas Theater Center. He was also recently found on Broadway in the hit musical, Rock of Ages, and has performed in the Broadway musicals Titanic, The Full Monty, The Boy from Oz and The Wedding Singer and in the original Los Angeles company of Wicked. While in LA, Matt also originated roles in the new rock musical Mask at the Pasadena Playhouse. Matt was also one of the 15 member cast in the new Sondheim musical Road Show which ran through 12/08 at the Public Theater in NYC.

Matt recently founded GhostLite Media - a company designed to teach media skills to companies and individuals with techniques and methods used by actors in their craft.

Matt is one of the original members of The Wilson Van - a rock group which also includes actor/singer Patrick Wilson, his brothers and friends. The group performs benefit concerts throughout the

Throughout his career Matt has performed in tour companies, summer stock and regional productions in 42 states and abroad - and, at last count, has golfed in 22 of those states. His career has led to some interesting moments including kissing Hugh Jackman on stage, baring it all for Queen Elizabeth II and sinking into the Atlantic eight times a week.

Besides being a versatile performer, (some might call him a chameleon for his ability to quickly change character - and clothing - in multiple role tracks) Matt gives back to the next generation of actors. He founded and directs Moveable Arts with partner Adam Pelty . Moveable Arts is an educational company which focuses on training aspiring actors and actresses through interaction with industry professionals.
He also returns to CMU as a guest instructor.

Matt is well known by his peers and fans as a ringleader - leading the cast in a cheer before a performance, playing on the Broadway Show League ball teams and participating in and organizing charity events.

While in New York City Matt has made TV appearances on The Americans, Law and Order, Law and Order:SVU, The Sopranos, 30 Rock, Chapelle's Show and the NBC TV pilot Conviction.
